Some common questions are:

1.    What is a barrister?

Counsellor at law; a counsel admitted to plead at the bar, and undertake the public trial of causes, as distinguished from an attorney or solicitor. A member of the bar association.

2.    What is a solicitor?

An attorney or advocate; one who represents another in court; lawyer who gives legal advice and prepares legal documents.

3.    What is an attorney?

A person legally appointed by another to act as his or her agent in the transaction of business, specifically one qualified and licensed to act for plaintiffs and defendants in legal proceedings.

4.    What is a lawyer?

One whose profession is to give legal advice and assistance to clients and represent them in court or in other legal matters.

5.    If I call your office collect, why does Mr. Punnett's assistant sometimes refuse the charges?

We only accept the charges if Mr. Punnett is available to take your call. If he is not available we refuse the charges. If we refuse the charges, we do leave Mr. Punnett a message that you called. Please do not think that we are ignoring you if the charges are refused and please do call back later.

6.    Do you accept Legal Aid?

Yes, we do. If you are a new client or wish us to represent you in a new matter, please bring your Legal Aid Certificate with you when you come to see us.

7.    Who can give me legal advice?

Lawyers can give legal advice. Court staff, assistants, secretaries, receptionists, accountants, real estate agents, insurance adjusters and process servers cannot.

8.    I've been told to seek Independent Legal Advice by another lawyer, do you offer this service?

We do.

9.    Do you give free legal advice?

No, we do not; however, we do accept Legal Aid and you can always request to speak with Duty Counsel at the Courthouse.

10.  Do you accept...... cases?
